Old Bahama Bay in The Bahamas offers special rates

Refurbished Old Bahama Bay on Grand Bahama Island in The Bahamas reopens with festive guest celebrations and rates at 2001 prices

Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas (January 26, 2004) - Refurbished and rejuvenated after the 2004 hurricane season, the exclusive 49-room resort, marina and residential community of Old Bahama Bay will officially re-open on Monday, March 14, 2005. Situated on the western tip of Grand Bahama Island in the village of West End, the resort will fully resume operations and offer guest accommodations at 2001 rates.

From March 14 to April 30, 2005, Old Bahama Bay will welcome back vacationers by honoring a special rate of $275 per night, the same rate the property opened with in 2001. The $275 rate includes a beachfront junior suite for two, nearly a fifty per cent discount from the regular spring rate of $509 per night. Each suite is fully appointed with custom-designed Island Plantation furnishings and lighting, a marble bath, full kitchen and sitting area, and a large ocean- or gardenview terrace designed with elegant Bahamian décor. Spacious two-bedroom suites are available for $879 a night, a $200 savings off the regular rate of $1,079 per night. These suites include a master bedroom, a second bedroom with two double beds, a full living room and dining area, and two oceanview terraces.

Also scheduled to re-open on March 14 are the resort’s fine-dining restaurant Aqua, featuring innovative Bahamian fusion cuisine, the casual Dockside Grille overlooking the marina, the beachside Straw Bar, the full-service marina, snorkel trail programs, and recreational amenities. Old Bahama Bay is also excited to herald the return of its popular events program. Every full moon weekend guests can join the Croon to the Moon celebration, which includes karaoke, crab racing, fire dancers, live Junkanoo entertainment, and food and drink specials. Wednesday and Friday nights will feature a Sunset Celebration party to honor the catch of the day. Additional events include Gospel Sunday Brunch, Kids Movie Night, and the new monthly Captain’s Barefoot Ball for visiting yacht captains and crews.

"We are back!" says Bob Kramm, general manager for Old Bahama Bay. "Through the incredible support of our loyal staff, owners, executive team and West End family, we are able to once again open our doors to the traveling public. Most importantly, we are pleased to welcome back our loyal employees who have supported us through this very difficult time. And now we eagerly await the arrival of our guests."

Special Rates are based upon space and availability and subject to change. For reservations call 1-800-572-5711.
