Delta adds four new Caribbean routes and increases service to four others in time for winter

Flights to Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and St. Maarten are on sale

Atlanta, Georgia, USA (November 17, 2005) – This weekend Delta Air Lines will accelerate the pace of its growth into the Caribbean with the inauguration of the first of four hot new routes scheduled to begin within the next 30 days.

New daily non-stop service between Atlanta and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic leads the expansion on November 19. Additional new Caribbean routes include Atlanta-Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (effective December 1), Atlanta-Barbados (effective December 8), and Atlanta-Antigua (effective December 18).

In addition to these new routes, during November and December Delta is also increasing service to many of its other popular Caribbean destinations. These include Atlanta-St. Maarten (expanded to daily, effective November 19), Cincinnati-Montego Bay, Jamaica (expanded to five times per week, effective December 1), Atlanta-St. Lucia (expanded to daily, effective December 1), and Atlanta-Belize (expanded to daily, effective December 15).

To highlight these great locations, for a limited time Delta is offering special low air fares to each of these destinations.

“With these hot new destinations and expanded service, Delta is continuing its significant growth to popular locations where customers want to fly,” says James Sarvis, Delta’s director for Latin America and the Caribbean. “We’ve added 30 per cent more seats during the past year, making us the fastest-growing airline to Latin America and the Caribbean. With this new service, Atlanta will become the second largest southeastern gateway to the region.”
