Spirit Airlines offers low fares to the Caribbean

New service from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale with connections to the Caribbean, Mexico and The Bahamas

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA (February 16, 2006) – Spirit Airlines, the best capitalized low-fare carrier to the Caribbean, today starts service from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to its hub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with convenient connections to the Caribbean and The Bahamas. The service features new Airbus A319 equipment with all-leather interiors and two-class cabin service, including Spirit Plus Business Class, which provides an extra six inches of width and legroom versus coach.

Spirit’s hub in Fort Lauderdale offers connections to twelve tropical destinations, which include Cancun, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica; San Salvador (Saturday only service) and Nassau, The Bahamas; Grand Turk (service starts February 19, 2006) and Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; St Thomas, US Virgin Islands; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

“We are excited to start service today and link Atlanta to our low-fare Caribbean hub in Fort Lauderdale,” says Barry Biffle, chief marketing officer of Spirit Airlines. “With sweet new airplanes, hot fares and sexy destinations, Spirit is the ideal option for Georgia residents to get away at an affordable price, whether they are visiting South Florida or any of our twelve Caribbean or Bahamian destinations.”
