New non-stop service to operate from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA (February 9, 2006) – Spirit Airlines, the leading low-cost carrier to the Caribbean, today launches daily non-stop service to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. A new Airbus A319 aircraft will serve Grand Cayman with two-class service and all leather seats throughout the cabin.

Non-stop service will be offered from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman with connecting service from Atlanta, Atlantic City, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, New York/LaGuardia, Orlando, Providence, Tampa and Washington DC/Reagan National.

“Spirit’s new service to Grand Cayman is off to a great start,” said Barry Biffle, chief marketing officer of Spirit Airlines. “Today we’re flying a full plane to Grand Cayman from Fort Lauderdale and had a huge send-off with music, food and gifts for passengers and most of all, from today on out, Cayman gets Spirit’s low fares and great service.”

The Cayman Islands Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Charles E Clifford, JP, commented: “Spirit’s entry demonstrates the continued confidence which is placed in Cayman Islands as a tourism destination. We welcome Spirit’s economic contributions to these Islands and the additional airlift which they will provide.”
