Caribbean Sun Airlines and Caribbean Star Airlines unveil spring 2006 schedules

New Antigua–Trinidad non-stop plus expanded service between Grenada and Barbados among schedule enhancements

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA (March 13, 2006) – Caribbean Sun Airlines and Caribbean Star Airlines have unveiled new schedules for spring 2006 offering a wide range of customer-friendly enhancements. Effective for travel commencing April 2, 2006, the new schedules feature new routes, expanded service on key existing routes and new arrival/departure times in select markets for improved connectivity with carriers serving cities in Europe and North America.

Caribbean Sun will inaugurate new daily non-stop service between Antigua and Trinidad. Caribbean Sun flight 387 will depart from Trinidad (POS) daily at 7am, arriving in Antigua (ANU) at 9:05am. The return flight (#624) will depart Antigua at 4:30pm, arriving in Trinidad at 6:35pm.

Caribbean Star and Caribbean Sun departure times on flights to/from Antigua, Barbados, San Juan and Trinidad have been revised to account for daylight savings time, providing enhanced connectivity with carriers serving cities in Europe and North America.

Caribbean Star will add a third daily flight in either direction along its Grenada-Barbados route. The 50-min flight leaves Barbados at 7:45am, 12:10pm and 7:20pm. Returning from Grenada it leaves at 6am, 9:05am and 11am.

The latest changes to the Caribbean Star and Caribbean Sun schedules have significantly bolstered the carriers’ combined service to and from Barbados. Combined, both carriers now operate 155 flights weekly to/from Barbados, making it the busiest gateway in the Caribbean Star/Sun system.

William E “Skip” Barnette, president and CEO of both Caribbean Sun and Caribbean Star, commented on the changes: “These new schedules are the latest step in our ongoing effort to provide the people of the Caribbean with the best air transportation in the world. Our passengers asked us to make it easier for them to travel abroad and we’ve responded with re-timed connections that make flying to and from Europe and North America more seamless and convenient than ever before.”

For reservations call 1-800-744-STAR (7827) within the Caribbean or 1-866-864-6272 within the US.
