American Airlines offers great low fares from JFK to Bermuda

One-way fares start at $129 on purchases made by April 4, 2006

New York, NY, USA (March 20, 2006) – American Airlines offers great low fares for that well-earned vacation or important business trip to Bermuda. One-way fares start at $129 for travel May 4–September 25, 2006, when purchased on American's website, AA.com. Tickets must be purchased no later than April 4, 2006. Seven-day advance purchase is required. Additional terms and conditions apply.

Flight 686 departs JFK at 9am and flight 1444 at 5:55pm arriving in Bermuda at 12:08pm and 9:16pm respectively. Flight 1443 departs Bermuda at 9am and flight 415 at 1:30pm arriving in New York at 10:15am and 2:46pm respectively. All flights run daily.

“Bermuda is a great American Airlines destination,” said Chuck Imhof, American's managing director, Greater New York. “We are grateful for our wonderful relationship with Bermuda, and to the many loyal travellers who have chosen American to visit this unique location. These new low fares are our way of saying thank you.”

American has served Bermuda continuously for more than 30 years, since September 1975. The airline currently offers two daily non-stop flights to Bermuda from New York’s JFK Airport, plus three flights a week from Miami. The JFK flights depart from American’s beautiful new Terminal 9. From 2000 through 2005, American flew 511,100 passengers to and from Bermuda.

Bermuda-bound travellers on American from JFK will have access to another amenity later this month. US Helicopter will initiate service from the Manhattan Downtown Heliport direct to American’s Concourse C at Terminal 9. Passengers will check baggage and clear security at the Heliport, arriving at the new terminal ready to board their flights. The US Helicopter service will be a welcome feature for executives representing, and visiting, Bermuda’s significant insurance and financial sectors.

For tourists, of course, Bermuda is well known as a serene vacation spot nestled in a sparkling blue-green sea. The beaches are creamy white flecked with pink, the trees are a variety of lush greens and pink oleander, and vines tumble over limestone walls. Add to this the variety of land and water activities, a range of restaurants, excellent buys on European fine china, woolens and perfumes, and it’s clear why so many visitors return to this magical island year after year.
