The Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama resorts launch swashbuckling fun for kids with Pirates Night

Themed activities part of new kids Moonlight Fun program at Our Lucaya

Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas (July 12, 2006) – As Disney’s bandits return to the big screen in “Pirates of the Caribbean 2,” The Westin Grand Bahama Resort at Our Lucaya and The Sheraton Grand Bahama Resort at Our Lucaya are welcoming young buccaneers with Pirates Night.

Part of Camp Lucaya’s new Moonlight Fun program for kids, Pirates Night runs on Thursdays from 6pm to 10pm, and includes a themed dinner and swashbuckling activities such as walk the plank and a treasure hunt. Admission to the program is $35 or $20 without dinner.

The Moonlight Fun program is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during peak periods. Fridays feature the Junkanoo Jam, during which kids make hats, beat drums and take part in a traditional Bahamian Junkanoo parade. On Saturdays kids don their PJs for a Pajama Party night of movies, karaoke and a talent show.

Camp Lucaya is a 3,000-square-foot centre with activity space and classrooms, boasting a menu of island-inspired experiences for children from three to 12 years old. Children can choose from a variety of Bahamian activities, including shell and Junkanoo mask painting, coconut crafts, sand sculpture building and straw weaving taught by local artisans. The camp is open to both Westin and Sheraton guests. The program includes snacks and drinks throughout the day, and lunch is available for $10.

For more information call the Westin Grand Bahama Resort at Our Lucaya at (866) 716-8108 and The Sheraton Grand Bahama Resort at Our Lucaya at (866) 716-8106, or see their listings under The Bahamas – Grand Bahama accommodations at www.caribbean.com.
