Antigua’s new Yepton Estate Cottages opens

Fully equipped cottages offer all the comforts of home and then some

(June, 22, 2006) – Antigua’s Yepton Estate Cottages just opened its doors. A small, fully self-catering community located within half an acre of landscaped gardens on a salt pond just off Loblolly Beach, it offers sanctuary to a host of birds, including the West Indian whistling duck, pelicans, egrets, blue and white herons and more.

All cottages are air conditioned with super-quiet split air conditioners, and have a large balcony with table and chairs, a barbecue and a wide hammock. Each cottage offers a spectacular view of the pond and the palm trees lining the beach beyond. A central pool provides cooling relief after a hard day of exploring the island.

The quality Antech gingerbread cottages were built by Douglas Luery with interior designs by his wife Gabriela. With an eye on detail, they are equipped with all the creature comforts, such as heavenly king-sized beds with luxurious 350-thread-count linens, brand-name small appliances, including coffee maker, blender, microwave and ice maker in the fridge, plus a TV, DVD player and stereo system. The owners have tried to think of everything, right down to a professional iron and board and all the other little things that one has at home but misses when abroad.

Lynda and Phil Abbott of Island magazine fame designed, built and painted much of the furniture. Gigi Industries was chosen to provide modern, utterly comfortable couches and beds. Old-fashioned washstands with modern vessels and fixtures, hair dryer, soft towels, original paintings, artisan mirrors, handcrafted book covers and dried local flower bouquets created by members of the Woods Gallery complete the welcoming look.

In short, Antigua’s Yepton Estate Cottages is a genuine home away from home in a tranquil and private setting. It is meant for those who need a rest from the hustle and bustle of life, and have traded structured meal plans and all-inclusive vacations for the serenity of a quiet meal at home and the freedom of exploring the wonderful restaurants Antigua has to offer.

With cellular phones and broadband Internet provided, this is also the ideal venue for business people who frequent the island.
