Saba voted No 1 Island in the Caribbean

Readers of Travel & Leisure magazine choose Saba for the World's Best awards


(July 22, 2006) – The Dutch Caribbean island of Saba was awarded as the No 1 Island for the Caribbean, Bermuda and The Bahamas in Travel & Leisure Magazine's 11th annual World's Best awards.

In this reader’s poll, Saba was the overall winner for the Caribbean region, with a total ranking of 79.50. Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands came in second place at 77.13, St John USVI took third place at 76.85, Bermuda placed fourth at 76.25 and Anguilla took fifth place with 75.34.

Saba’s Director of Tourism Glenn Holm accepted this very prestigious award at an intimate dinner awards ceremony at the Top of the Rock restaurant in Rockefeller Center on July 20. Commissioner of Tourism Will Johnson and Mrs Johnson were also in attendance to witness this important milestone for Saba's tourism industry.
