Aruba resorts receive upgrades for 2007

Divi Aruba & Tamarijn Aruba all-inclusive resorts boast new facilities, services and amenities

Oranjestad, Aruba (February 7, 2007) – To continue offering guests the most choices for their resort stay, the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba all inclusives have added several fabulous new facilities, services and amenities for 2007. Plus, it’s important to remember that guests staying at either the Divi Aruba or the Tamarijn Aruba now have use of all facilities and services of both properties, so everything that’s new at both resorts can be enjoyed by all!

Divi & Tamarijn Aruba boast a number of new enhancements this year. First, the well-known pizza bar has undergone a transformation into the establishment now known as Pizza per Tutti Bar & Grill. Located poolside at the Tamarijn Aruba with a great ocean view, its casual ambiance is completed by cool blue tiling above the open brick ovens and comfortable open-air countertop seating, perfect for guests who simply want to grab a quick pizza and beverage, light snack or even a cocktail, wine or beer.

Another visible change at the resorts can be found not in the public areas, but in room. New bedding, window treatments and upholstery have been added at the Tamarijn Aruba, bringing shades of bright Caribbean blues and warm yellow tones to complement the beautiful island environment just outside the guest room doors. Royal-blue cushions adorn the chairs and sofas, while on the beds, light-blue throws on pristine white comforters complete the overall look. Repeat guests will also notice the new furnishings, including new headboards, dressers, chairs and tables in tropical bamboo and teak, all with an attractive dark wood stain to bring out the natural beauty of these materials while highlighting the vibrant new fabrics.

Further, a new Asian fusion restaurant is located adjacent to Italian restaurant, Paparazzi. Appropriately entitled Ginger, this new dining establishment just opened this month. It features both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as innovative, modern décor and an exciting menu with dishes such as Tokyo Beef Noodles, Mango Chicken and Vegetarian Tempura Mix. Reservations are suggested, as Ginger is proving to be the resort’s most in-demand venue for dinner, and seating fills up quickly!

Aruba Weddings For You is yet another new addition to the resorts. A wedding planning service for newlyweds-to-be, Aruba Weddings For You is available to guests of both the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba at an additional charge. The knowledgeable staff can assist with all aspects of a couple’s destination wedding from planning stages right through “I do” and the reception.

Also new at the Tamarijn Aruba is a dedicated Kids Club room located in the property’s shopping arcade. The room is fully equipped to provide maximum fun for the little ones, decorated in an under-the-sea theme featuring various fish and other ocean creatures. The room boasts a table and chairs specially built for smaller sizes, as well as all the games a child could want, including Connect Four, Old Maid, Tic-Tac-Toe and various puzzles, to name a few. As always, the Kids Club is available for children ages 5-12 and offers numerous activities such as Papiamento lessons, T-shirt and face painting, arts and crafts, snacks and more under careful adult supervision.

Just steps away at The Links at Divi Aruba, two new dining outlets immediately catch the eye. Mulligan’s Golf Café, Bar & Restaurant and Windows on Aruba are both built in the round and are located in the golf clubhouse. These restaurants are optional amenities available to guests of the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba at an additional cost. They offer a spectacular view overlooking the picturesque lagoon at The Links ninth hole with the azure Caribbean in the background, so sunsets are a particular treat. On the second level, the open-air Mulligan’s offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, transitioning seamlessly from a polished restaurant to a comfortable lounge. On the third level directly above Mulligan’s is the elegant Windows on Aruba. Fully glass enclosed and air conditioned for optimal comfort, Windows on Aruba serves dinner nightly with weekly rotating gourmet fare. Menus for both Mulligan’s and Windows on Aruba are artfully created by celebrated Chef de Cuisine Leendert Klaassens.

The AAA 3-Diamond Divi Aruba offers 203 air-conditioned accommodations in one-, two- or three-story buildings while the oceanfront Tamarijn Aruba features 236 oceanfront guest rooms in two-story buildings. Guest rooms at both properties each feature a patio or balcony, colour satellite television, ceiling fan, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, mini-fridge and telephone. Located just ten minutes from the airport and five minutes from Aruba’s capital city, Oranjestad, these adjacent low-rise resorts are set on beautiful Druif Beach, with a shopping arcade and the Alhambra Casino nearby.

Guests staying at either the Divi Aruba or the adjacent, newly renovated, oceanfront Tamarijn Aruba have use of all facilities and services of both properties. All stays at the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba include all meals and snacks at a choice of eight dining outlets, unlimited beverages at seven bars and the use of three freshwater pools. In addition, all guests may use the well-equipped Divi Winds Sports Center, which features an air-conditioned oceanfront fitness centre with the latest strength and cardiovascular equipment, as well as a 30 foot outdoor rock climbing wall on the beach. The Divi Winds Sports Center also boasts non-motorized watersports, including snorkelling equipment, snorkel clinic and tour, sunfish sailing, floats, kayaks, beginner’s windsurfing equipment and “Learn to Windsurf” beach clinic. Tennis, beach volleyball, beach Olympics, bikes and bike tour, tennis clinic, casino table games, arts & crafts, dance lessons, beach soccer, billiards, board games, darts, basketball, Papiamento lessons, entertainment nightly, theme nights, ticket to Bon Bini Festival (seasonal), Funbook! with coupons for the adjacent Alhambra Casino, tax and service charges are further all part of what guests receive at Divi & Tamarijn Aruba.

Just steps away, The Links at Divi Aruba is an optional amenity that offers discounted green fees and premium tee times to guests of the resorts. The nine-hole course features an on-site golf school and clubhouse with pro shop. Another optional amenity, the Indulgence by the Sea spa, features pampering treatments from massages to facials to body scrubs. In addition, an air-conditioned Internet lounge featuring twelve computer stations with high-speed Internet access (for an additional fee) is located in the lobby of the Tamarijn Aruba. WiFi has also been added to the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba in all guest rooms and common areas.

For those who want to see the island, the concierge desks at both properties can make arrangements for various off-property trips from downtown shopping excursions or restaurant reservations to catamaran cruises and more.

Family, golf, wedding, honeymoon and dive packages are available. Rates, features and facilities are subject to change without notice. Certain restrictions may apply and no refunds will be given for unused features.
