Aruba resort voted tops by Caribbean Travel & Life readers

Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino named Best Restaurant in the Caribbean, one of the Best Large Hotels and Best Resort for a Wedding

Aruba (December 15, 2006) – The readers of Caribbean Travel & Life magazine are a knowledgeable upscale sample of what is hot in the region and have spoken in the December issue. The publication’s coveted Best of the Best reader’s poll named Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino among the favourites in three separate categories, including the top of the list as Best Restaurant in the Caribbean for the resort’s signature restaurant Sunset Grille. The exhibition-style kitchen overseen by executive chef Matt Boland, a seven-year veteran of Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino, was recognized by the magazine’s culinary aficionados for its world-class steaks, fresh seafood dishes and comprehensive wine list.

Additionally, Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino was named one of the Best Large Hotels and Best Resorts for a Wedding by magazine readers. Aruba’s famed Palm Beach, where the resort boasts a prime position and home to the new oceanfront Larimar Spa, was named one of the Best Beaches in the Caribbean. The poll was voted on by the readers of Caribbean Travel & Life magazine that travel to the Caribbean often and are described by the publication as “the most sun-kissed group of travellers anywhere.”

The Caribbean Travel & Life magazine awards come fresh off the heels of Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino receiving Meetings & Conventions magazine’s 2006 Gold Key Award for the second consecutive year and Corporate & Incentive Travel magazine’s 2006 Award of Excellence. Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino and Sunset Grille were both also recognized with the Four Diamond award from the American Automobile Association (AAA) for the fifth consecutive year. Sunset Grille is one of only two restaurants in Aruba to achieve this distinction.

“Accolades bestowed on Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino from our guests and frequent visitors to the Caribbean are the most prized as they speak to the superior level of service we offer compared to our regional peers,” says Gary Jutz, general manager of Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. “We continue to augment our amenities and services that include the recent opening of the Plaza Club and Larimar Spa.”

Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino is situated on 14 oceanfront acres, featuring the best 1,500 feet of white sandy beach on island. Brimming with lagoons, waterfalls and manicured gardens, this award-winning property offers 353 well-appointed guest rooms and suites, capturing the essence of Aruban charm. It also features a brand new 13,000-square-foot oceanfront Larimar Spa, sumptuous cuisine, superior Guest Enrichment program, PADI watersports facility, two pools, access to the Tierra del Sol championship golf course, 16,000-square-foot casino and more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space.
