Description:
The Lodge is situated at the northernmost tip of Crooked Island overlooking the pristine waters and white sandy beaches just yards from its guest rooms. The 12 air-conditioned private rooms have private baths and outside patio space. The rooms are clean, comfortable and more than adequate for all but the most discerning traveler.

Breakfast and dinner are served in the main lodge. The building was one of the island's first outposts and is still recognized as an important historical landmark. Much of the original stonework walls and doorways still remain, sparking the imagination of guests while they ponder the history of the island. Christopher Columbus himself is known to have visited this very point of land during his first trip to the New World.

The Sunset Bar and Grill is just steps away from the main lodge, boasting an incredible view of Bird Rock Lighthouse. The name was inspired by the magnificent sunsets that patrons enjoy almost nightly. The Sunset Bar and Grill is open to the public, as well as lodge guests and it is not uncommon for local residents to stop by to visit and tell stories of growing up on Crooked Island. The bar if fully stocked with ice-cold Kalik (the beer of The Bahamas), imported beers, wines and liquors. Guests can relax inside the open air bar and enjoy the music.

Fresh food is prepared daily and guests enjoy hearty helpings of locally influenced dishes, including fish, lobster or conch with homemade breads and desserts. The kitchen can accommodate special dietary requests, as long as we know about them well in advance.

Crooked Island is located in the extreme southeastern corner of the Bahamas and is truly a beautiful place to lay back and relax. The Crooked Island Lodge has 12 air-conditioned guest rooms located just steps from white sand beaches, a private 3500' runway and an authentic local restaurant where the staff prepares fresh, locally caught grouper, snapper, tuna, mahi mahi, lobster and conch.

The island is surrounded by beautiful turquoise flats, pristine coral reefs and small cays. The Lodge itself overlooks the picturesque Bird Rock Lighthouse, which is surrounded by an extensive reef system. Guests who enjoy snorkeling can wade right in only steps away from your room. Certified divers may experience unique and spectacular "wall diving" just a few hundred yards off the beach. The location is also well-suited to the adventurous angler wanting to go after tuna, mahi mahi or even marlin on light conventional tackle.

Other activities include a sea kayak tour of the coast or a visit to the historic lighthouse. Self-guided snorkeling is available in front of the Lodge. It may also be possible to arrange an off-shore, light tackle, fishing trip with a local charter-boat captain.
