Guests arrive at Andros Island Airport, a one-hour flight from Miami and Fort Lauderdale or 15 minutes from Nassau by commercial or charter airline. This is followed by a 20-minute drive and five-minute private ferry to Kamalame Cay.
Alternatively, a scenic 10-minute flight via seaplane (from Nassau) can be arranged through the resort for those who prefer to be dropped off directly and with minimal fuss.
Kamalame Cay is a barefoot chic Caribbean retreat featuring 19 luxurious seaside rooms and suites in a range of charming, bougainvillea-draped cottages and bungalows, peak roof Balinese beach houses and classic Plantation style villas.
Furnished with art, books, antiques and a collection of South Asian and Bahamian decor, the Great House is a gathering place where guests enjoy cocktails and meals.
A white sand path off the garden terrace, leads to a heated, fresh water pool edged in towering Silver Palms as well as a Tiki Bar with open grill that regularly hosts torch-lit, Bahamian beachside banquets enlivened by local rake and scrape bands.
A quick flight from major hubs such as New York, Toronto and Miami, yet worlds away from Nassau's trendy, resort-lined beaches, Kamalame's utterly private accommodations are tucked into 96-acres of swaying palms and flowering tropical foliage. A lush oasis ringed by three miles of deserted, white-sand beach and colourful coral gardens, the warm, turquoise waters just off shore teem with manta ray, parrotfish and blue tangs.
