The Plantation House, Guest cottages and 18th century sugar mill are surrounded by farm-and pasture land, fruit and flower gardens, ancient trees, historic aqueducts, nature trails, rivers, and secluded beaches within walking distance.

Here, you can experience a slower pace, and a life more in harmony with nature. Staying at Balenbouche feels more like vacationing with friends, with every guest's individual needs and wishes taken into account. We speak German, English and French.

Our charming one and two bedroom rental cottages were created from original historical structures and designed for a simple, tropical lifestyle. Special features such as natural stone showers, antique furniture, wooden shutters and fretwork, and original artwork give each cottage its distinct character.

Balenbouche is well known for its fine dining and guided tours, yoga retreats, workshops and destination weddings. We also offer volunteer opportunities and internships.

We are located on the picturesque south-western coast, 20 minutes from the Hewanorra International airport, and 30 minutes from the town of Soufriere, the Pitons, and many of the islands sites and attractions. Taxis and sightseeing trips can be arranged by us, and the local buses are an affordable and fun way to get to know the island and its people. However, many of our guests choose to rent a car for at least part of their stay, which is the best way to explore the island.

Several local restaurants are within a 5 - 10 minute drive, and breakfast is available at the Plantation House every day. Dinner is offered several times a week and by special request. Two of our cottages have full kitchens, and the supermarket is 20 minutes by car or bus.
