Hammerhead and Sawfish Spotted at Small Hope Bay Guests treated to rare sitings at Small Hope Bay dive resort in Andros, Bahamas Press Release 2012
Andros, Bahamas (February 29, 2012) - This past month we have had some incredibly beautiful days.
It doesn't really feel like winter when you get to dive in crystal clear blue water, walk the sunny Bahamas beaches or just enjoy a cold beer and a fantastic meal on our outdoor patio overlooking the Caribbean. So we think you should come and enjoy these things too.
Diving around Small Hope
A few weeks ago some of our guests and dive staff were treated to a rare sight, a Hammerhead shark! The group had been diving at the ocean Blue Hole and were just coming through the last keyhole when Divemaster Fede looked up and saw the unmistakable shape of the hammerhead shark! Dennis was taking video of the dive and luckily for those of us who couldn't be there he got some great footage of the dive.
Recent Sitings
Since we have been having such great weather this month our guests have had lots of opportunities to spot lots of the life that we are lucky enough to enjoy in the Bahamas.
Right around our dock were a couple of dolphins, wishing our divers about to head out a good morning. A spotted eagle ray was flying around Klein's Place, a great mid-level dive site.
Frank, a mutton snapper, who is almost always with us on our wall dives, has been following the divers around. He plays coy but really loves to be around divers. Glister, one of our bonefishing guides, and a guest spotted a Sawfish on a fishing excursion.
