Andros Crab Fest Celebrates Food and Friends

Turtle sited at Small Hope Dive Resort in Andros

Press Release 2012

Small Hope Bay, Andros (April 12, 2012) - March was such a wonderful month at Small Hope Bay Lodge. We have had lots of old and new friends dropping in to enjoy their Spring vacations.

Definitely a lot more diving, fishing, relaxing and good times to come.

Coming up this June is the annual Andros Island Crab Fest. Highlights of Crab Fest include live Bahamian music, the releasing of the crabs, educational information, culinary contests, local crafts and jewelry, and lots of great food and company!

The best part is that the festival is located just minutes away from Small Hope Bay Lodge in Fresh Creek.

News from Scuba and Sassy
The dogs are almost one year old and are still enjoying all the attention they can get. They splash in the sea, play with guests and chase (but never get close to catching) the birds on the beach. But their favorite pastime is still riding around on the golf carts!

Recent Sitings
The past few weeks have been filled with turtle sightings. We saw a huge Loggerhead turtle at our wreck dive, the Marion. We saw a cute little Hawksbill turtle at Giant Staircase and Divemaster Kate managed to get some great footage of two turtles at Fisherman's Wall.

We have done a couple of night dives recently and on both a huge crab was spotted walking around at Klein's Place.

Over on Goat Cay we have seen three Blue Herons hanging out on the rocks.

And Spring has sprung! The wind has died down and we are waking up to glassy seas again. Come visit and see for yourself!
