Hyatt Regency Trinidad Offer New Healthy Kids Menu

The new kid-created menu offers healthier food options featuring fun, fresh and flavorful items

Press Release 2012

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (October 29, 2012) - Hyatt Regency Trinidad, located in the heart of Port-of-Spain, has launched a new, innovative menu, "For Kids By Kids," providing pint-sized guests more nutritious, fresh and interactive offerings.

Grounded in Hyatt?s industry-leading philosophy "Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.", the new menu not only provides a healthy selection of kid-friendly foods, but also promotes the larger message of creating healthy people, a healthy planet and healthy communities.

To launch this innovative offering, the hotel invited 20 kids aged 5-12 to the Waterfront restaurant to be among the first to sample the new menu items.

Outfitted with "For Kids By Kids" chef hats and t-shirts, the little ones were divided into groups and guided through four food stations, where they interacted with hotel staff while learning how to prepare salads and smoothies in addition to creating personalized tacos and pastas.

"The launch of our new "For Kids by Kids" menu is a part of our industry-leading commitment to provide our guests with food and beverage options that benefit their health, our planet and our communities," said Russell George, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Trinidad.

"The kids that participated in our launch event had a great time with our staff and above all they enjoyed their food. We look forward to welcoming our young guests and inviting them to try our new menu items that have been specifically created with them in mind."

The "For Kids By Kids" menu allows Hyatt Regency Trinidad to make the healthy choice the easy choice for guests. Sample items from the new menu include:

Lunch: Shaken Chopped Salad with roasted chicken, vegetables, brown rice and yogurt basil dressing; Build Your Own Whole Wheat Sub Sandwich with turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese on a whole wheat mini-sub. (These offerings are also available during dinner hours).

Dinner: Natural Beef grilled and served with potatoes, roasted vegetables and garden salad; Vegetable and Sesame Rice Noodles with marinated tofu, corn, green beans, basil and cherry tomatoes.
