Bridgetown, Barbados (March 9, 2009) - The island of Barbados will offer an exquisite culinary experience paired with incredible savings for 2009 with the introduction of the Barbados Gourmet Card.

Available April 15 - December 14, 2009, the Barbados Gourmet Card offers 25 percent savings on meals at participating restaurants throughout the island.

Barbados is the first and only Zagat-rated Caribbean island featuring over 100 restaurants in its dedicated Zagat Guide.

Often referred to as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean, Barbados is internationally known for its diverse and quality cuisine, ranging from gourmet oceanfront restaurants to authentic island eateries and lively downtown bistros.

Aimed at promoting the outstanding cuisine and dining on-island, the Barbados Gourmet Card will be available for visitors traveling to Barbados via the www.BarbadosGourmetCard.com website where they can apply.

The site also features a variety of signature Barbadian recipes, island and cuisine information and a Chef of the Month profile.

Participating restaurants offering the 25 percent discount include Daphne's Barbados, Waterfront Cafe, Spago, Elbow Room, Scarlet, Il Tempio, Aqua Restaurant & Lounge, Josef's, Luigi's, Apsara & Tamnak Thai, Simply GIGI, Wytukai, Brown Sugar, and The Lighthouse at the Hilton.
