Four Seasons Resort in Great Exuma Bahamas is a superb new venue for meetings

New resort at Emerald Bay gives meeting planners a destination that is close to home, yet has the feel of a faraway paradise

Great Exuma, The Bahamas (March 21, 2005) - Four Seasons Resort at Emerald Bay, on the island of Great Exuma in The Bahamas, is less than a two-hour flight from Miami and just 40 minutes by air from Nassau.

While most comparable Caribbean resorts design indoor function space to accommodate up to 40 per cent of their guest rooms, Four Seasons Resort at Emerald Bay in Great Exuma has the unique ability to accommodate all guests, allowing for plenty of space for events of all descriptions. Groups seeking a venue that affords complete privacy for exclusive events and corporate functions can even book the entire resort. With the support of experienced in-house conference services staff, meeting planners and CEOs alike can rest assured that any event will be a complete success.

Treasure hunting at Emerald Bay
Gilligan’s Island meets luxurious tropical island retreat for meeting participants who embark on the Emerald Bay Resort’s one-of-a-kind treasure hunt experience. "Meeting planners looking for something a little different will want to try our treasure hunt for meetings and incentive trips," said Ramesh Sadhwani, general manager, Four Seasons Resort at Emerald Bay. "Not only is it a great team-building exercise, it offers guests a unique way to experience the beauty and seclusion of the Exumas."

The treasure hunt begins when small groups set out on boats with GPS coordinates to hunt for a series of treasure chests lying at the bottom of the sea. Clues and prizes are hidden inside. The final treasure chest leads participants to a beach party on one of the tiny, private, deserted islands of the Exuma archipelago. "This is one example of how we can make a meeting a memorable occasion in the Exumas," Sadhwani said. "Snorkelling, deep-sea fishing, sailing and even helicopter tours of the Exumas are some of the many activities we can incorporate into a meeting or incentive trip."

Meeting space at Emerald Bay
Indoor and outdoor meeting space is plentiful at Four Seasons Resort on Great Exuma. Eight interior meeting rooms, totaling 1,210 square meters (13,020 square feet), open onto private terraces and outdoor areas. An additional 1,115 square meters (12,000 square feet) of outdoor meeting space, called the Ocean Pool Lawn, showcases the resort’s beautifully landscaped grounds and water views. Outdoor facilities offer maximum privacy for sophisticated poolside and beachside lawn events, entertainment, barbecues and other activities.

Activities include golf and water sports
Groups feel secluded, pampered and engaged by the wide choice of before and after meeting activities. Guests can opt to stay at the resort and enjoy the Greg Norman-designed golf course, the four tennis courts or a treatment at the full-service spa. Water recreation at Emerald Bay is fun and relaxing and includes snorkelling, sea-kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and sunbathing. Catamaran cocktail and dinner cruises provide a special opportunity to spend time with fellow guests. Eco-tours of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, a preserve of rare tropical birds and underwater coral beauty, is a must-see attraction of the Exuma archipelago. Exuma also offers hiking expeditions, bicycle tours and fly-away day trips to Nassau.
