Cayman Islands offers spring deals to Chicago-area residents

Cayman Islands offers spring deal to Chicago-area residents - accommodation, 2-for-1 airfare, airport transfers, diving packages and more.

Cayman Islands (February 7, 2005) - Chicago-area residents can take advantage of special end-of-winter packages to Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. In less than four hours vacationers can be basking in the warm sun of Seven Mile Beach, indulging in some of the best cuisine the Caribbean has to offer, and exploring the depths of the world’s most spectacular blue ocean.

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and the country’s national flag carrier, Cayman Airways, have teamed up with Travel Impressions and Caradonna Vacations to offer Chicagoans hot deals on travel commencing May 1 through July 2, 2005 (ticketing validity expires April 30, 2005).

"We are delighted to make it easier for travelers from Chicago to visit our magnificent islands with greater ease and value," says Rick Blake, VP Sales and Marketing, Cayman Airways. "This type of strong public and private sector cooperation is exactly what we need to increase our visitor arrivals, and I sincerely appreciate the efforts that the Department of Tourism, Cayman Airways, Travel Impressions and the private sector made to offer such lucrative promotions for our mid-west clients," adds Blake.

Starting packages for the Reef Resort on Grand Cayman include 2-for-1 roundtrip direct airfare on Cayman Airways, six-night/seven-day hotel accommodation, and roundtrip airport transfers for $769 per person/double occupancy. Air taxes not included.

Packages for Cayman Brac start at $959 per person/double occupancy and include roundtrip direct airfare on Cayman Airways, six-night/seven-day hotel accommodation, and an optional dive component. The package at Divi Tiara, for example, also includes roundtrip airport transfers, welcome cocktail, daily breakfast, five two-tank guided boat dives (including one to Little Cayman, weather permitting), unlimited shore diving (transportation not included), use of tanks, weights and belts, and hotel taxes and service charges. Air taxes not included.

Little Cayman packages start at $1,589 per person/double occupancy and include roundtrip direct airfare on Cayman Airways and six-night/seven-day hotel accommodations. The package for Little Cayman Beach Resort, for example, also includes roundtrip airport transfers, daily breakfast and dinner, five two-tank guided boat dives, use of tanks, weights and belts, and hotel taxes and service charges. Air taxes not included.

"Vacationers in the Chicago area are getting a fantastic two-for-one deal thanks to Cayman Airways. Paired with excellent hotel promotions and the warmth of the Cayman Islands, we are looking forward to welcoming hundreds more of our friends from the Windy City for an affordable spring getaway," says Pilar Bush, Director of Tourism.

For travel to Grand Cayman, call Travel Impressions at 1-800-284-0044; to the Sister Islands of Cayman Brac or Little Cayman, call Caradonna Vacations at 1-800-329-9989. With Cayman Airways 2-for-1 promotion and direct service from O’Hare International Airport, traveling to the Cayman Islands from Chicago has never been easier.
