St. John, US Virgin Islands (April 19, 2005) - The Westin St. John Resort & Villas is paying close attention to the 13+ set. The resort with the largest pool in the USVI has instituted what all teens want: Teen-Only Activities.
Located on the southwest coast of St. John, The Westin St. John Resort & Villas is set on 47 lush acres with a quarter-acre, 450,000-gallon freshwater swimming pool with waterfall and two adjacent Jacuzzis. When not frolicking by the pool teens can choose from numerous teens-only water activities including sailing 200 feet above the adults with Teens-Only Para-Sailing soft adventure excursions; snorkeling off the beautiful beaches of St. John, which are only accessible by boat, on Teens-Only Kayak Trips; and exploring the location of their choice, waterskiing, and even picnicking on a deserted island with boom box and Frisbee on Teens-Only Nauti Nymph Powerboat Excursions.
Teens have plenty to do on land as well. For Teens-Only Shopping, the resort’s personal shopper will direct them to where to find the latest reggae CDs, the coolest jewelry ear cuffs, piercing, toe rings, and more, in laid back Cruz Bay, which is only minutes away. Shelly Blyth will advise more mature teens on shopping in St. Thomas, which teens can travel to via the resort’s boat. Athletic teens will learn the techniques perfected by the stars at Teens-Only Tennis Clinics on the resort’s six lighted courts. With instructor Ana Steel, they will learn the moves at Teens-Only Salsa Lessons that will make them the center of attention at school dances back at home.
In addition to teens-only activities, teens enjoy congregating at the resort’s water trampoline and floating climbing wall. At the resort’s Dive-In Movies, they can watch popular feature films from the comfort of the pool, and when the skies are clear and the demand is high they can enjoy the heavens without urban lights during Pool-Side Star Gazing. Teens looking to kick back and relax will enjoy having a French manicure while their feet soak in bubbles at the spa. When it’s time to meet back up with the family, they can join in the resort’s Family Club activities, including water volleyball, bobbing for sodas in the pool, and tennis doubles competitions, where parents and kids compete against other families/teams for points.
Since these teen programs are available all year long, The Westin St. John Resort & Villas is offering the second room for children up to the age of 18 at 50 per cent off year-round, based on availability, when parents book a room. In addition, kids ten years and under eat free in all of the resort’s restaurants July 8 through December 20, 2005.
