Up-and-coming Little Cayman

New York magazine names Little Cayman one of the next “It” islands in the Caribbean

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (November 8, 2005) – In today’s issue of New York magazine, Little Cayman was named one of “The Next ‘It’ Islands” in the Caribbean. “Every few years a new island gets hot,” reads the article, and this year, Little Cayman has garnered that coveted distinction.

World renowned for its beaches and dive spots, Little Cayman welcomes visitors in search of adventure, relaxation, escape, and some of the most incredible blue water. The article highlights the island’s spectacular snorkelling and includes vivid color photographs of scuba divers in Little Cayman’s “underwater fantasyland,” Bloody Bay Marine Park. Additionally, it mentions top-ranked dive resort Southern Cross Club’s push to become Little Cayman’s first Green Globe 21 destination, meaning the hotel conforms to UN sustainable tourism standards, a new reason for eco-conscious travelers to visit the island.

New York magazine is one of the nation’s most widely respected publications, and has a circulation of 427,825. Its readership includes NY metropolitan area residences and visitors interested in keeping in touch with local lifestyles, news, and events. Regular issue features include politics, business, travel, literature, the fine arts, entertainment, food, and fashion.
