Riu Hotels & Resorts opens its third resort in Jamaica in October

ClubHotel Riu Ocho Rios, the chain’s largest resort, will have 856 rooms and feature Riu’s world-famous all-inclusive formula

(September 22, 2005) - Riu Hotels & Resorts will open ClubHotel Riu Ocho Ríos, its third resort in Jamaica and the chain’s largest, with a total of 856 rooms and its all-inclusive formula, on October 28, 2005.

The resort is a small, authentic holiday city with 90,000 square meters of gardens and a wide array of services. Located on the seafront next to the zone’s best beach, the property is four kilometers from the city of Ocho Rios and 105 kilometers from Montego Bay International Airport.

The five-star establishment will boast swimming pools, sports installations, a gymnasium, a wellness centre, and all kinds of areas for fun and entertainment. The broad range of entertainment and activities offered is the defining characteristic of Riu’s ClubHotel product, which combines the comfort of a traditional hotel with the fun and entertainment of a club.

The resort’s extensive all-inclusive gourmet cuisine will include international, Caribbean, and Jamaican dishes, and theme restaurants such as the à-la-carte Sir Richard restaurant, the oriental Mandalay restaurant, a grill and steakhouse, and the Piccola Italia restaurant.

Guests staying in any of the 371 special deluxe suites with sea views will have exclusive access to the Tushima Japanese restaurant and enjoy other advantages, such as luxurious palatial furnishings and a hydro-massage bathtub. Some suites have their own Jacuzzi.

As an all-inclusive resort, guests can enjoy free food and drinks 24 hours a day. This includes liquor dispensers and other drinks in rooms and several resort bars, such as the Sport Bar, Reggae, and Rastafari bars. It also includes free, complete access to all the installations (except individual services at the wellness centre), admission to shows, Pachá Nightclub, and entertainment activities - for both children and adults - as well as music concerts and the reggae beat.

The resort offers everything imaginable for holidays full of fun in a truly exotic atmosphere.

Recently declared Best International Chain in Canada, RIU Hotels & Resorts also operates the Riu Tropical Bay and ClubHotel Riu Negril establishments in Jamaica.
