San Juan casino reopens after extensive renovation

Expanded Stellaris Casino at the San Juan Marriott Resort boasts new features, table games and state-of-the-art slot machines

San Juan, Puerto Rico (June 2006) – The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has announced the completion and grand opening of their newly expanded and renovated casino, the first phase of a $35 million renovation project at the hotel.

After adding 2,200 additional square feet, the Stellaris Casino is now 12,700 square feet, and features 470 slot machines, 26 table games, a new casino bar, an expansion of the popular Wan Chai Noodle Bar and a Casino Pantry. The new section of the casino is a non-smoking gaming space with wider aisles and first-class seating. A new High Limit Slot Parlor offers the greatest number and widest selection of state-of-the-art $5 and $25 slot machines in Puerto Rico. Also exclusive to the San Juan Marriott is the greatest number and widest variety of penny slot machines on the island.

All slot machines, with the exception of 25 of the older, ever-popular IGT S+ $1 reel machines, have “Ticket-In/Ticket-Out” (TITO) capability. All of the slot machines also now have player tracking capability with the most lucrative Player’s Club points accumulation on the island. A new Gold Level and Silver Level Player’s Club has been introduced and points can be redeemed for cash, gifts, hotel accommodations, food and/or beverage. Several prime parking spaces in the largest covered, secure hotel parking garage in the metro area have been reserved for Silver Level and Gold Level Players Club Members as well.

To keep players energized, the new Casino Pantry menu includes oatmeal, danishes, muffins and breakfast tostadas. Soup, sandwiches and a variety of finger foods are available for lunch with coffee beverages and daiquiris served all day. The nearby Wan Chai Noodle Bar features the vibrant flavours of the Asian region and is open for dinner.

Construction and renovations planned for the rest of the San Juan Marriott Resort, including rooms and meeting space, are scheduled to be completed by December 2006.

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is located just five miles from the airport with immediate access to San Juan's fashionable shopping, dining, adventure, nightlife, historical and cultural landmarks. Experience a tropical beachfront setting, amazing picture-perfect views along the Atlantic Ocean, a swim-up bar, multiple sundecks packed with palm trees, lounge chairs, hammocks and cabanas, and so much more. The San Juan Marriott provides a relaxing environment, luxurious guest rooms and suites, full casino, invigorating spa, two elaborate swimming pools, meeting facilities, six dining options and a lobby lounge for nighttime entertainment.
