Couples Resorts in Jamaica rated among Caribbean’s best all-inclusives

Couples Swept Away and Couples Sans Souci voted among Top 25 all-inclusive resorts by readers of Travel + Leisure

Montego Bay, Jamaica (July 19, 2006) – Couples Swept Away and Couples Sans Souci are the highest ranked all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and among the Top 25 in the region overall, according to tens of thousands of readers polled in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best awards. The resorts were the only all-inclusives included in Travel + Leisure’s Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and The Bahamas.

“Receiving such prestigious recognition by Travel + Leisure readers is very gratifying,” commented Randall Russell, Couples Resorts’ senior VP of sales and marketing. “It is a testimony to our continuing efforts to provide the highest quality product with the most inclusions at a competitive price.”

Couples Swept Away, with a ranking of 83.79, was the number one ranked resort in Jamaica. Couples Sans Souci earned a rating of 81.21, making the two resorts the only all-inclusives to be included in the Top 25 list. Travel + Leisure survey participants were required to rate each hotel based on rooms and facilities, location, service, restaurants and value.

Couples Swept Away has just completed a multi-million dollar renovation, which includes the addition of new rooms and suites, three new restaurants, including a 24-hour beach grill, a piano bar and nightclub, 4,500-square-foot event facility and an infinity pool with a swim-up bar and two large Jacuzzis. Situated near the laid-back city of Negril on sparkling Seven Mile Beach, Couples Swept Away provides a private, peaceful escape.

Couples Sans Souci, the newest addition to the Couples family, is located on the picturesque north coast of Jamaica, four miles east of Ocho Rios. Acquired by Couples Resorts in September 2005, Sans Souci, French for “without a care,” boasts 148 ocean-facing luxury suites nestled into a 35-acre hillside garden.

Travel + Leisure magazine has been asking its readers to rate the quality of destinations, hotels, spas, airlines, cities, rental car companies and tour organizers in its World Best awards since 1996.

Couples Resorts, headquartered in Montego Bay, Jamaica, owns and operates four properties in Jamaica, West Indies - Couples Ocho Rios, the first-ever couples-only all-inclusive resort, Couples Sans Souci, Couples Swept Away and Couples Negril. Pioneered by the legendary Abe Issa, “father of Jamaican tourism,” each Couples Resort is an unsurpassed model of the all-inclusive concept, boldly designed with local inspiration to create a harmonic sense of nature and authentic Caribbean spirit.
