OCEAN WORLD MARINA & CASINO’S GRAND OPENING
Ocean World Marina & Casino, located in Cofresi on the Dominican Republic’s (DR) north coast, recently announced plans for its grand opening celebration on December 16, 2006. Ocean World will honour the new marina and casino with a spectacular boat show and performance by legendary rock band The Beach Boys.

Strategically placed between the Turks and Caicos Islands and Puerto Rico, Ocean World Marina will be the only full-service marina within a 300-mile radius on the well-travelled route between Florida, The Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean. Ocean World Casino complements the marina, complete with the area’s first five-star restaurant, a main stage featuring Las Vegas-type shows and a casino with tables and slot machines. For more information call (809) 970-3373.

HARD ROCK CAFÉ OPENS IN SANTO DOMINGO
Located in the heart of the Colonial Zone, the Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo opened in July. The décor of the restaurant, which sits on the north side of Columbus Square, is inspired by Columbus’ journey, featuring a design that combines both old and new. The café features plenty of rock star memorabilia, appetizing cuisine and of course, Presidente, the DR’s famous cerveza (beer). The 420-seat restaurant recently hosted legendary performers Blondie and the Village People. For more information call (809) 686-7771.

FIRST JACK NICKLAUS SIGNATURE GOLF COURSE OPENS AT CAP CANA
Cap Cana recently announced the completion of the 18-hole Punta Espada golf course, the first of three Jack Nicklaus signature courses to open at the new mega-resort. Punta Espada’s inauguration will be celebrated on November 8, 2006 with an appearance by Jack Nicklaus himself.

Punta Espada’s signature hole is 13. According to Sam Logan, director of operations, number 13 is a “spectacular 249-yard par three expected to become one of the world’s most photographed holes.” Offering magnificent views, it requires golfers to complete a challenging tee shot into a green surrounded by the Caribbean’s striking turquoise waters. For more information call 1-800-785-2198.

DELTA VACATIONS OFFERS NEW PUERTO PLATA HOTEL PACKAGES
Coinciding with the launch of Delta’s non-stop service between Atlanta and Puerto Plata, Delta Vacations recently announced the expansion of its product line.
