Anguilla resort offers golf package in honour of the island’s new premiere golf course

Arawak Beach Inn special includes a packed lunch, transportation and all-inclusive rates starting at $340 per room

Anguilla, BWI (November 24, 2006) – Arawak Beach Inn welcomes Anguilla’s first golf course with a package designed to help duffers hit the links. Including complimentary boxed lunch and transportation to and from the new Temenos Golf Club, the Hole-In-One Escape starts at $340 per room, per night based on double occupancy and availability. With a three-night minimum stay, the all-inclusive package, valid year round and priced seasonally, boasts three meals per day, unlimited house drinks by the glass, all ferry/airport transfers, tax and service.

When taking a break from the greens, guests can lounge by the pool, visit any of the nearby pristine beaches or take a quick boat trip over to Scilly Cay for live music and delicious lobster. Maria, the innkeeper, will happily arrange excursions to Scrub Island (an uninhabited private island), nighttime outings and more.

The exclusive Temenos Golf Club, which debuted earlier this month, marks the long-anticipated grand opening of Anguilla’s first-ever 18-hole championship golf course. Created and designed by golf legend Greg Norman, the competitive course offers the ultimate golf experience in the Caribbean with breathtaking views. In Norman’s design plan players are greeted by a spectacular vista of St Maarten and the Caribbean Sea at the tee box of the 390-yard starting hole. The fairway descends more than 40 feet to a narrow, two-tiered green sitting precariously on the edge of a saltwater lagoon. Large sand dunes on the left and a saltwater pond on the right frame the perilous drive on the 440-yard 16th hole that plays dead into the trade winds and ends with an elevated green surrounded by water and protected by deep bunkers. The narrowing fairway on the 18th hole ascends 40 feet through rugged terrain to a narrow green carved out of the native shrub. Fees for non-members and non-residents of Anguilla start at $400 per person.

Arawak Beach Inn can arrange advanced tee times for guests. For reservations call 1-877-4-ARAWAK or e-mail relax@arawakbeach.com. For more information see their listing under Anguilla – Accommodations at www.caribbean.com.
