Delta Air Lines increases service to USVI

New non-stop flight from New York to St Thomas begins March 2007

St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (December 8, 2006) – Delta Air Lines will introduce a new non-stop weekly flight on Saturdays from New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport to Cyril E King Airport in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands beginning March 3, 2007.

The new weekly Saturday non-stop flight (Delta flight #373) is scheduled to depart New York at 9am and arrive in St Thomas at 12:54pm. The return flight (Delta flight #374) will depart St Thomas at 1:55pm and arrive in New York at 5:50pm.

“We are pleased with Delta’s decision to offer non-stop service to meet the demand for travel to St Thomas,” stated Commissioner of Tourism, Pamela C Richards. “We thank Delta Air Lines for their continued support and for making it even more convenient to book a non-stop flight to and from America’s Caribbean. We are notifying our commuter airline partners so that St Croix can benefit from this expanded service too.”

The new non-stop flight has been added in response to a growing demand for travel to the destination from New York and other major US markets. Travellers may also book complete vacation packages through Delta Vacations, including air travel to St Thomas along with hotel accommodations. For more information about Delta Airlines, to view a complete schedule or to make a reservation, call 1-800-225-4968.

As a United States Territory, the US Virgin Islands does not require proof of citizenship of US citizens arriving from Puerto Rico or the US mainland. Entry requirements for non-US citizens are the same as for entering the United States from any foreign destination. Upon departure, a passport is required for all but US citizens.
