Bonaire announces island-wide dive program

Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007 set for June-September with activities for the whole family

Kralendijk, Bonaire (February 19, 2007) – This summer everyone is invited to experience Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007 in the Caribbean’s top-rated dive destination, as voted on in Scuba Diving magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2007. Bonaire’s new summer-long promotion, Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007, takes place June 3–September 29. This island-wide event focuses on scuba diving through a series of specialty topics: family, fotography, fish and fun!

There is no registration fee to participate in Bonaire Dive Into Summer (select activities may have a nominal cost involved) and all activities are open to anyone on the island wishing to take part. Bonaire Dive Into Summer will also feature a free coupon book (valid June 3–September 29, 2007) filled with valuable discounts for hotels, restaurants, shopping, activities, rentals and more, which will be available to all visitors to the island.

The “family” topic introduces guests to the many activities and programs available on-island for the entire family to enjoy. The “fotography” topic includes guest speakers and events designed for professionals and those interested in photography. The “fish” topic covers marine conservation and our ocean planet and the “fun” topic features everything diving, such as speakers encouraging divers to take new courses and non-divers to become certified.

During September, solo travellers and singles travelling in groups can take advantage of dives, snorkels and events just for singles. Each month people will also have the opportunity to enjoy A Taste of Bonaire, an event showcasing local food, handicrafts, culture and music.

“Creating a summer-long, island-wide promotion will give more people the opportunity to learn about and participate in the many activities Bonaire has to offer,” said Ronella Croes, director of the Tourism Corporation Bonaire. “Also by offering specialty themes aimed at families, photographers, people concerned with marine conservation and special singles events in September all focused on scuba diving we can target niche markets and bring different groups of people with similar interests together.”

Bonaire Dive Into Summer is being sponsored by the Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) and Scuba Diving magazine. For more information on Bonaire – Dive Into Summer 2007 visit the event’s official website at www.bonairediveintosummer.com.
