The Landing is a gracious, historic property dating back to 1800. Located on Harbour Island, which lies a short distance off the northeast coast of Eleuthera, this boutique hotel overlooks the harbour in the heart of Dunmore Town, an easy five minute stroll to the powder fine, pink sand beach where we have our own beach chairs and umbrellas for our guests to enjoy.
Accommodations
The Landing offers twelve guest rooms, including a honeymoon suite under the eaves that overlooks the garden and the harbour. Our rooms are designed and inspired by India Hicks in a classic plantation style.
Rooms have mahogany stained, four poster beds with crisp white Ralph Lauren linens, and are draped in Indian cotton. The waxed hardwood floors are overlaid with sea-grass matting and decorated with a meticulous attention to detail.
All rooms have private baths and air conditioners and feature wireless internet connection. Some also have ceiling fans and verandahs, most have harbour views. All rooms are non-smoking. A pool has recently been added for the enjoyment of The Landing's guests.
Dining
The Landing restaurant serves a contemporary menu based on fresh local produce and freshly caught local fish and seafood. With an emphasis on fresh and quality ingredients, our chef, Ken Gomes, from Sydney Australia, insures consistently top reviews. Ken was recently featured as the celebrity guest chef at The James Beard Foundation Celebrity Chef Tour in New York City.
Activities
Harbour Island is famous the world over for for its pale pink sand beaches. The sand here is always cool, so you can freely walk the three miles of uncrowded beach with bare feet. Outlying reefs provide large areas of relatively calm and shallow waters that are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving or just relaxing in the surf. Local dive shops offer dive instruction and certification.
Harbour Island is also a spectacular fishing destination, with both deep-sea and flats fishing.
