Earlier this month, the Divi Aruba was selected as an Expedia Insiders' Select hotel for 2012, effectively making it one of the site's top-ranked properties. This award recognizes the best hotels available on Expedia's 30 branded travel sites worldwide based on traveler reviews. The Divi Aruba is one of only 650 winners selected worldwide. In May, both the Divi Aruba and the Tamarijn Aruba received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, making 2012 the second year in a row that the Tamarijn Aruba has earned this distinction and the first year that the Divi Aruba has achieved it. The certificate is presented annually to properties that consistently receive excellent ratings from TripAdvisor members.
In addition, the Tamarijn Aruba is currently ranked as the #1 hotel in Oranjestad, Aruba, on TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel site with TripAdvisor branded sites in 30 countries worldwide receiving more than 50 million unique monthly visitors (Source: comScore Media Metrix for TripAdvisor Sites, Worldwide, January 2012) and over 60 million reviews and opinions.
Also in 2012, the Divi Aruba and the Tamarijn Aruba each won Travelocity Excellence Awards, placing them among just 500 hotels out of the more than 70,000 hotels on the website to do so. The awards are provided to select organizations for their commitment to provide only the best hotel experiences to guests.
The two properties also took home inaugural Travelocity Excellence Awards in 2011. Travelocity is one of the largest travel companies in the world and is committed to being the traveler's champion before, during and after the trip.
High ratings from guests are expected to continue with the addition of 3,240 square feet of brand new meeting space above the Alhambra Casino, located adjacent to the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba.
Set alongside the casino is the new Alhambra Mall, which is a shopper's delight with its array of retail fashion shops. It also boasts a second Ginger Asian-fusion restaurant and brand new hot spot Fusion, a chic piano, wine, tapas and cigar bar, both of which just opened in March 2012.
