Miami, Florida (January 2004) - The chicest shack in the Caribbean has just added four new villas to its repertoire of funky bungalows and cottages on the sea. Jake’s, an Island Outpost boutique resort on Jamaica’s Treasure Beach, has long been known for its fresh attitude and bohemian atmosphere with Moroccan, Indian and Caribbean influences. Now, four new villas, Seapuss 3, and Octopussy 1, 2 and 3, are being launched in Jake’s original style with a notch more pizzazz.
Seapuss 3, a Caribbean and Indian paradise located right on the water, has open-air windows and a back deck built over the sea. This large suite features a queen-size bed, ceiling fan, and romantic private outdoor showers.
The three two-story Octopussy villas each offer 800 square feet of living space with a large bedroom and open-air deck on the rooftop that juts out over the water. Each unit is styled like a Moroccan palace with a rooftop deck that has furniture built into the floor and walls and plenty of fluffy pillows strewn about. A retractable canopy offers direct sunlight for sunbathing or cool shade in the afternoon hours. For an extra sense of romance, the villas offer alfresco showers. The Octopussy rooms also provide Aveda amenities, bathrobes, Internet connection, and room service.
Sensual, secluded, and peppered with imagination, the atmosphere of this lush waterfront getaway offers a complete escape from everyday life. Set amid a lush tropical landscape, 15 cottages and four villas are adorned in the most exquisite Moroccan, Indian and Balinese décor. Hotel amenities include two restaurants, a saltwater swimming pool, poolside bar, yoga/meditation deck, a host of outdoor activities, including kayaks and mountain bikes, and a library with games and music. Villas start at $395 per night.
