Jamaica resort ranked among the world’s best

Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa voted among Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and The Bahamas by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine

Hollywood, Florida, USA (July 23, 2007) – Travel + Leisure magazine unveils its much-anticipated 2007 World’s Best Awards in its August issue, including its top hotel picks for the year. Among the luscious retreats and boutique hideaways worldwide that made the list this year is first-time winner Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa in Jamaica. The AAA Four Diamond resort was ranked among the Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and The Bahamas.

Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa boasts some of the best seaside frontage on Jamaica’s north coast, with more than 2000 feet of private white-sand beach. Upon arriving at the resort’s charming town square, guests are greeted with a refreshing fruit punch and salty ocean breezes. Distinctive for its architecture and intricate gingerbread fretwork, and reminiscent of a Jamaican village with cobblestone walkways, the sprawling resort offers a laid-back, yet elegant ambiance. A guest favourite is the weekly Friday night Street Party, a beachside feast under the stars, with succulent freshly grilled lobster, pit-roasted suckling pig, spicy island curries, tropical fruit and decadent desserts.

Culture mavens looking to combine some R&R with authentic island flavour will delight in Grand Lido Braco’s annual Best of Jamaica (October 3-7), a long-weekend immersion of cooking classes, rum blending seminars, reggae dance lessons, and perhaps even picking up a little Jamaican patois along the way. Four-night Best of Jamaica packages start at $796 per person, based on double occupancy, and include all activities; fine dining; 24-hour room service; unlimited premium cocktails; land and watersports, including equipment and instruction; complimentary golf at a choice of three greens, including two 18-hole championship courses; complimentary manicures and pedicures at the resort’s full-service spa; entertainment; airport transfers; and even dry cleaning. And as always at a SuperClubs resort, no tipping is allowed.

On newsstands July 24, Travel + Leisure’s 12th Annual World’s Best Awards Readers’ Survey is based on readers’ responses to a questionnaire developed by the editors of the magazine in association with Harris Interactive. Respondents rated hotels, destinations and travel companies based on recent travel experiences. In the hotel category, readers were asked to rank their experiences on the following criteria: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value. Travel + Leisure is one of the most respected consumer travel magazines in North America, reaching more than 986,000 savvy travellers each month.

Every SuperClubs holiday is super-inclusive – accommodations; all meals, SuperSnacks and premium brand cocktails; unlimited use of all sports facilities, including equipment rental and instruction; entertainment; weddings; recreational activities; and hotel taxes – with absolutely no tipping allowed.
