Sculpture Garden Restaurant Hotel Kura Hulanda in Curacao will debut its newest epicurean attraction PRESS RELEASE - 2009
Curacao (February 2009) - Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino kicked off the new year with the opening of its newest culinary venture, the Sculpture Garden Restaurant, which will serve as the resort's new fine-dining establishment.
As its name indicates, the new restaurant will be located in the resort's Sculpture Garden, an outdoor enclave in the center of Kura Hulanda. African sculptures and a contemporary mural surround the garden, making it an ideal place for aficionados to enjoy one-of-a-kind art and exquisite cuisine under the stars. It's open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
The Sculpture Garden Restaurant will feature an a la carte menu as well as a specialty set menu that will change weekly. The set menu offers a choice of three appetizers, three entrees and two desserts for US $49.50.
The menu was developed by Sjoerd Wassenaar, the restaurant's executive chef, and includes offerings such as pan-fried breaded scallops with marinated crab salad served with steamed green mussel and curry coconut sauce; grilled Chilean sea bass filet with grilled vegetable lasagna, lemon grass sauce and a tomato, lemon grass, ginger salsa; and the classic grilled US beef tenderloin served with a reduction of balsamic, mousseline of celery root and garden mushroom jus, among a variety of others.
The Astrolab Observatory Restaurant, previously serving as Kura Hulanda's fine dining option, will now offer an exclusive and unique special events venue, and is already in high demand with the space reserved for multiple weddings and receptions for the remainder of the year and in to 2009. Astrolab will no longer operate as a restaurant for dinner, but will still house the hotel's daily breakfast buffet for guests.
