Runaway Bay, JAMAICA (February 12, 2008) - Previously veiled in artistic seclusion on Jamaica's north coast, Itopia is now opening its doors to the world. The 1600s-era country home is available for private rentals, courtesy of Island Outpost, the boutique hotel collection of Jamaica and The Bahamas.
The three-bedroom Itopia is sharing its historical and artistic energy with year-round short and medium-term rentals. Conveniently located with easy beach access, Itopia provides a secluded sanctuary with the option of activities and excitement. Old world charm marries modern facilities here with a full staff, lush gardens, high-speed wireless Internet and cable television.
The environment: peaceful, inspiring, beckoning creativity to flourish. Art director Sally Henzell fashioned it s for herself and her husband, filmmaker/writer Perry Henzell. Their son Jason Henzell, Island Outpost President and owner of Jake's in Treasure Beach, recalls it fondly.
"Itopia is the most creative and spiritual place known to me," relates Henzell. "My childhood memories include skateboarding with local kids, friendly Rastafarian farmers bringing fresh ital produce and my father tapping away at his typewriters into the night by lamp light. A large part of being creative comes from being relaxed - anyone who visits Itopia can get a taste of this."
All bedrooms offer queen-sized beds, the upstairs bedroom with en suite bathroom and shower, the downstairs featuring a canopy bed, along with sunken bath and shower. The third bedroom contains a four-poster canopy bed.
With Itopia's full staff on-hand, visitors find enhanced comfort. Delicious home-cooked meals are prepared from fresh organic produce. Menus can be tailored to dietary requirement and preference. Guests are served in the dining room, or in a variety of al fresco options.
Jamaica's famed white-sand beaches beckon 10-minutes away at Runaway Bay Beach and Cardiff Hotel. Just to the east lies Salem Fisherman's beach, where the catch of the day lands. PGA-quality golf with breathtaking Caribbean views awaits visitors at nearby SuperClubs Golf Club. A menagerie of natural sites lie within minutes of Itopia, including Dunn River Falls, Dolphin Cove, Cranbrook Flower Forest, Green Grotto Caves.
